Two arms dealers nabbed in Assam's Nagaon
Nagaon (Assam), Sept 28 (IBNS) : Security forces apprehended two arms dealers and recovered illegal arms and ammunition in Assam’s Nagaon district on Thursday night.
The arrests were made during a joint operation by the Nagaon district police and the army at a roadside dhaba on Nagaon bypass road.
A top police official said the two arms dealers were staying at the dhaba and trying to sell illegal arms.
The duo has been identified as Saidul Islam and Sarjahan Ali. Security personnel recovered from them a point 22 pistol, a magazine and five rounds of live cartridges from them.
During police interrogation, they revealed that, the illegal arms were purchased from Nagaland’s Dimapur, meant to be sold in various areas of central Assam.
