Two hardcore NDFB (S) militants gunned down in Assam

Guwahati, Mar 16 (IBNS) : Two hardcore militants belonging to the NDFB (S) were killed in an encounter with security forces in Udalguri district on the wee hours of Wednesday, police said.

BTAD IGP Dr LR Bisnoi said based on intelligence input Udalguri police led by SP had launched operation at Hatipota village under majbat police station in the BTAD district.

“The troop reached the area where a militant group took shelter there. The group started to fire targeting the security personnel and forced us to exchange bullet. In which two hardcore militants were killed on spot,” the top police official said.

The slain militants were identified as Daoharu and Jackpot and both are Myanmar trained militants.

Security personnel have recovered two 7.65 mm pistols, two magazines, four rounds live ammunition, four empty cases of 7.65 mm ammunition, four 9mm empty cases, a SIM card in possession from them.

The police official said that massive search operation is going on in the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh bordering areas.
