Two Indian fishing boats held by Pak agency
Rajkot/ New Delhi, Jan 5 (IBNS) Three days after a suspected Pakistani fishing boat blew itself up in the Arabian sea, two Indian fishing vessels with 12 occupants were reportedly apprehended by Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency (MSA) off the Gujarat coast on Sunday, said media reports.
Reports received from the Fishermen Association from Porbandar said the two boats were Jhelelal and Jalaram. The Association reportedly received a message in this regard from the fishermen.
Reports from the Indian Coast Guard also confirmed the seizure of the boats by MSA, though the identity of the captives were not known so far.
The incident came amid the diplomatic tussle between India and Pakistan over a mystery boat from Pakistan being blown up off Porbandar coast on New Year's eve after it was challenged and chased by Indian coast guards. India says the had boat sailed from Karachi on a mission for some 'illicit transaction' and it was to destroy the evidence that the vessel's four crew members destroyed it. Pakistan, however, denies the presence of any of its fishing boats near the maritime area that day.
