Two insurgents apprehended in Manipur, arms-ammunition recovered

Guwahati/IBNS: In two separate operations, Mantripukhri, Keithelmanbi and Phundrei Battalions of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) in joint operations with Manipur police apprehended two insurgents of UNLF and KCP (N) in Imphal East and Kakching district on Sunday.

Based on specific inputs, troops of Assam Rifles along with Manipur police launched these operations which led to the apprehensions.

Three 9mm pistols, one .22 mm pistol and 43 live rounds were also recovered from the UNLF insurgent.

The apprehended insurgents along with recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to Manipur police for further investigation.
