Two more COVID-19 positive cases reported in Guwahati

Guwahati/IBNS: Two more positive COVID-19 cases were detected in Assam’s capital city Guwahati on Saturday.

In the last 72 hours, 27 positive cases for COVID-19 have been detected in Guwahati.

The new two cases have been related to an earlier COVID-19 patient of Fancy Bazar area in Guwahati.

With the new cases, the state tally is now increased to 91. 

Assam Health minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, among the two new cases one is a barbar and another is a handcart puller.

He tweeted "2 more persons, related to Aloo Godam case, test #COVID19 + in Guwahati. Total cases 91."

Meanwhile, the administration of Kamrup (Metro) district has declared several areas in the capital city of Assam as containment zone.

Assam has so far reported 91 COVID-19 positive cases including 34 cases from Kamrup (Metro), 11 cases from Cachar district, nine cases from Golaghat district, six cases each from Morigaon, Goalpara districts, five cases each from Dhubri, Bongaigaon districts, four cases from Nalbari district, three cases from Jorhat district, two cases each from Karimganj and Kamrup districts and one each from South Salmara, Lakhimpur, Hailakandi and Kokrajhar district.
