Union Minister Nitin Gadkari slams Congress for 'lack of development' in the country
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Apr 20(UNI) Union Transport and surface minister and BJP senior leader Nitin Gadkari on Saturday said that since the BJP led NDA government came to power, many development works have been done which were not done by the Congress party during their 50 year rule over the country.
While addressing a election rally at Sant Eknath Maharaj holy town Paithan about 60 km from here in support of Jalna lok sabha BJP-SS-RPI candidate Raosaheb Danve who is four time in row elected MP trying his luck fifth time .
Gadkari said that, In Marathwada region during the last five years numbers of big development work undertaken by the government.
At this time, Gadkari said that those who can not ask votes for development, they have started seeking votes on the name of casteism. Talking about Garibi Hatao(removal of poverty) slogan once again given by Congress president Rahul Gandhi he said since beginning Congress is talking about it. Today, the poverty of the people has not disappeared, but the Congress's people poverty was diappeared,he said .
Gadkari said that there has been a large number of irrigation projects related work has been completed in the state and with in one and half year irrigation water storage capacity will be increase. About 5.5 lakh acres of land in Marathwada will come under water,he said.
Gadkari also said that the National Highway is undergoing in Marathwada region costing of Rs 70,000 crore. In Maharashtra, only Rs 5 lakh crore work is being done by my department.
Jayakwadi dam is not filled, because Godavari does not have water, but we are planning to release water in Godavari from the Damanganga Pigar Yojna, which will help filled up Jayakwadi project if 100 percent in future. Marathwada water question is very serious. Government going to spend Rs 7000 crores on liver linking project . So, Marathwada will be Sujalam Suhlam, Gadkari added.
On this occasion Danve,MLA Sandipan Bhumre ,Suraj Ridge,Tushar Shisode among others alliance office bears were present.
