UP Polls 2022: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra taking zone wise organisational meeting at Congress state office
Lucknow/UNI: Congress general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra continued holding marathon zonal meetings with party leaders here on Saturday, the third day of her visit on her Mission 2022.
On Friday she completed interaction with the leaders of four zones by late night. She started her interactions with the remaining leaders of four zones on Saturday morning.
Priyanka is expected to go to Rae Bareli later this evening.
Congress leaders here said that in-depth discussion on elections, organization building and party campaigns were discussed with zonal leaders.
They said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is taking the report of Congress in every village and feedback from every leader.
"Review of 96 Blocks and 874 Nyaya Panchayats of Western UP were also discussed. The ongoing farmers agitation was also discussed during the meeting," sources said.
Besides, brainstorming on the election strategy to be adopted for Western UP was also held.
Along with reviewing the work of the organization, discussions are also being held on the ground trends, leaders said. On Friday the party during its meeting had cleared a pan UP electoral Yatra called ' Congress Pratigya Yatra--Hum Vachan Nibhayenge" which is likely to take off from September 20.
Congress leaders said this yatra will cover around 12,000 kms and will end in Lucknow.
The route of the yatra is being finalised in the ongoing meeting chaired by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at the state party office.
Meanwhile, the announcement of party candidates for state assembly polls have been delayed after an initial discussion on Friday with Ms Vadra.
Now the next meeting of the election committee will be held on October 5 next to discuss the candidates.
