A class 10 student in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur shot his teacher thrice with a countrymade pistol after the teacher scolded him over a dispute with another boy, media reports said.

The accused student shot three rounds of bullets at the teacher and ran away with the gun but was later overpowered by the onlookers.

Police have registered a case of murder in this regard.

Additional Superintendent Of Police Rajeev Dixit said that the bullets missed the critical organs of the teacher and the teacher is out of danger.

He has been referred to Lucknow for better treatment.

The whole incident was captured on CCTV camera. The student can be seen chasing the teacher with a gun but soon a few onlookers overpower him and snatch his weapon.

The teacher also fights him back while the student assaults him with the butt of the pistol.

Some of the onlookers grab the student and threaten him with a stick.

The teacher can be seen sitting on the ground while the onlookers hold the student tightly.

The teacher said he never knew that the student was so upset about being reprimanded.
