Uttar Pradesh: Child mauled by dogs in Bareilly, dies
Bareilly: A two-and-a-half-year-old girl died after being mauled by a pack of dogs CB Ganj locality in Bareilly city here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Wednesday.
Police sources said that Pari, daughter of Awadhesh Gangawar, a resident of Bandia village, was attacked by a pack of around 15 to 20 dogs late on Tuesday evening.
"The dogs dragged the victim for around 100 meters and mauled her badly," they said.
Police sources said that by the time local residents reached the spot after hearing the cries of the girl, Pari was badly injured.
"The family members of the victim rushed her to hospitals where doctors declared her dead. There were more than 150 marks of dog bite on the body of Pari," they said.
Inspector CB Ganj Ashok Kumar Kamboj said that the matter was being investigated. This is the second incident of dog attack in less than a month. A child Zubair (7) was also attacked by the dogs two weeks back.
