Uttar Pradesh: Shootout in Lucknow between ATS, suspect terrorist

Lucknow, Mar 7 (IBNS): The Anti-Terror Squad is attempting to capture a suspected terrorist who is hiding in a house in Thakurganj area of Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow on Tuesday.

According to media reports, a shootout is going on between the police and the suspect.

The area has been cordoned off.

The neighbourhood has been cordoned off and at least 20 commandos are involved in the operation, police sources told NDTV.

The incident occurred at a time when Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to vote in the last phase of polling on Wednesday.

The result is scheduled to be announced on Mar 11.
