Uttar Pradesh: Two killed in separate incidents

Mahoba/UNI: Two people were killed while six others sustained injuries in separate road accidents here, police said on Saturday.

Additional Superintendent of Police Virendra Kumar here said that a bike-borne youth rammed into some stray animals lying on the road near the Mahua village at the Jhansi-Mirzapur national highway under the Panwari area, late on Friday evening.

The youth, identified as Parmeshwari Dayal Chaubey, was killed on the spot in the accident. He was proceeding towards his home and the mishap happened as there was darkness on the road.

The body has been sent for post-mortem.

In another incident, a speeding auto, carrying workers, rammed into a stationary truck on the roadside near Mamna Tigaila at the Kanpur-Sagar national highway, four kilometers away from the Mahoba Headquarters.

Auto-borne Ramesh was killed in the accident while six others sustained injuries. The injured have been admitted to a hospital.
