Uttarakhand: Landslide leaves thousands of pilgrimage stranded
Rishikesh, May 19 (IBNS): Thousands of pilgrims to Badrinath Temple were stranded on Friday after landslide occurred in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, media reports said.
The pilgrimage was halted temporarily as several were stuck and forced to take shelter nearby.
The landslide occurred after a huge rock rolled down the hills and blocked a key road in Chamoli, reports said.
The Border Road Organisation (BRO) is expected to clear the debris by Saturday.
