Vasundhara Raje was Lalit Modi's business partner: Congress

New Delhi, June 26 (IBNS): The Congress party on Friday alleged that Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and former Indian premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi are business partners.
The Congress released papers filed by Raje ahead of her election in 2013 in which she said she owned over 3,000 shares in Niyant Heritage Hotels Limited, owned by her son, Dushyant Singh, who is a law-maker.

"Vasundhara Raje's 2013 Election Affidavit now corroborates that she has 3280 shares in Niyant Heritage Hotels," Congress leader Drajoy Kumar said in a press conference.

"Documents now prove direct financial involvement of Rajasthan CM with Lalit Modi," he alleged.

The government has been under attack of the Congress for allegedly trying to shield Modi.  The Congress has also demanded the resignations of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje for their alleged links with the former cricket administrator, who the party says is a "fugitive."

However, the BJP has rallied behind its two senior leaders saying the charges brought against both of them are "baseless."

Party's heavyweight leader and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that there is "nobody tainted," making it apparent that no move is likely to be taken to probe the allegations against Swaraj and Raje.
