Vice President greets people on Independence Day

New Delhi, Aug 14 (IBNS): Vice President of India M. Hamid Ansari on Sunday greeted the people of our country on the joyous occasion of Independence Day.

In a message, he said the country should salute and pay tribute to valiant freedom fighters whose courage and sacrifice led to freedom of our country.

"This Independence Day let us resolve to work hard towards achieving the goal of prosperity, social equality and dignity for every citizen of India," he added.

Following is the text of Vice President’s message:

“I convey my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the joyous occasion of our Independence Day.

We salute and pay tribute to our valiant freedom fighters whose courage and sacrifice led to freedom of our country from the oppressive colonial rule of more than 200 years.

This Independence Day let us resolve to work hard towards achieving the goal of prosperity, social equality and dignity for every citizen of India.”
