Vikas Swarup to take over as MEA spokesperson
New Delhi, Mar 26(IBNS) Author of 'Slumdog Millionaire' and career diplomat Vikas Swarup is likely to replace Syed Akbaruddin as Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson.
Reports on Thursday said Swarup is expected to take charge on April 18.
Swarup joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1986.
He is the recipient of the US-India Business Council's Lifetime Achievement Award for "Contributing to the Cultural Ties that Bind."
