New Delhi, Dec 29 (IBNS): The Enforcement Directorate told a Delhi court that the arrested alleged middleman in the VVIP chopper case-Christian Michel-has named "Mrs Gandhi" and "the son of the Italian lady".

Though the investigating agency did not specify the context used by Michel, his reference was seen aimed at Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi, reported NDTV.

"We need to decipher who is this 'big man' referred to as 'R' is in the communication between Christian Michel and other people. We need to confront Michel with other people to decipher this," the Enforcement Directorate told the court,as reported by the news channel.

Michel is among the three alleged middlemen being probed in the case by the Enforcement Directorate and the CBI. The others are Guido Haschke and Carlo Gerosa.

He was produced before a special court on Saturday.

His ED custody was extended by seven days.

He was extradited to India from Dubai recently.

Michel, on his arrival in India, was taken to the CBI headquarters for questioning.

Michel’s extradition comes six years after his alleged involvement in the purchase of VVIP helicopters first surfaced in 2012.
