Water stunts, gold ring gifts and tattoo mark Jayalalithaa birthday

Chennai, Feb 24 (IBNS): While many tattooed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's image and name on their forearms to mark the 68th birth anniversary of the AIADMK supremo, an MLA, M V Karuppaiah, floated in the water for nearly an hour with a party flag in his mouth to wish his leader.
M V Karuppaiah, who represents the Sholavandan Assembly constituency, went to the government swimming pool in Madurai and then floated on water, holding an AIADMK flag in his mouth.

According to TV footage, Karuppaiah was also sporting a t-shirt with Jayalalithaa's image.

Speaking about his water stunt, the MLA said he performed the 'Jalapradakshnam' act for Jayalalithaa's well-being.

Even as the Tamil Nadu chief minister did not make a public appearance on her 68th birthday, her supporters left no stone unturned to celebrate her special day.

From “Amma tattoos” on forearm to gifting of gold rings to new-borns by a legislator, fans did all they could on the occasion of her birthday.
