WB Chief Minister condemns Bangladeshi writer's death
"I strongly condemn the brutal murder of the Bangladeshi writer few days ago. We believe in freedom of expression," Banerjee tweeted.
"Words are not enough to condemn the sad incident. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of the Bangladeshi writer," she said.
Bangladesh's Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday arrested a person in connection with the murder of writer Avijit Roy here last week.
Farabi Shafiur Rahman was arrested from Dhaka’s Jatrabarhi area.
Roy was hacked to death by unidentified assailants on Dhaka University campus last Thursday night.
