WB: CJM of Birbhum attacked by extortionists for Kali Puja subscription, 4 arrested

Kolkata/Birbhum, Nov 10 (IBNS): The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Birbhum district of West Bengal was manhandled badly by few drunk and unruly extortionists on Sunday night in the district's Suri area for not paying Kali Puja's subscription, reports said.

According to reports, the CJM of Birbhum district Indranil Chatterjee was returning home on Sunday night and few youths had stopped his vehicle and demanded subscription from him.

When Indranil Chatterjee refused to give, he was attacked by the youths.

His security guard was also beaten when he tried to save Indranil Chatterjee.

However, after receiving his written complaint, Birbhum District Police arrested four people in connection with the case on Monday.

Birbhum SP Mukesh Kumar told IBNS: "We received a complaint regarding this incident and arrested four persons. We have started investigation into the matter."
