WB: Five road mishaps kill 12, 21 injured

Kolkata, Nov 13 (IBNS): Five road accidents occurred on Friday at five locations in West Bengal, which killed at least twelve people and left 21 others injured.

A public bus fell into a drain at Maynaguri in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal which killed four passengers. Twenty others including the bus's passenger were injured in the accident.

Another accident was reported from Chanditala area in Hooghly district of West Bengal where one motorcycle crashed into a lorry, which was parked beside the road. Two riders of the bike died in the accident on spot.

Two bike riders were killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and a lorry at National Highway-2 (Delhi Road) near Dankuni in West Bengal's Hooghly district on Friday. Another rider of the bike was injured and has been admitted to hospital in critical condition. Police have detained the truck driver.

On Friday early morning, a head-on collision between a car and a bike was reported from Kanthi in East Medinipur district of West Bengal. Two riders of the bike were killed in the accident. Police have detained the car.

In another road mishap, two bike riders were killed at Mejia area in Bankura district of West Bengal on the wee hours of Friday, reports said.
