West Bengal bans gutka for a year
Kolkata/IBNS: The West Bengal government has banned all paan masala and gutka items that contain nicotine or tobacco from Nov 7 for a period of one year.
The state Health and Family Welfare Department said this in a notification on Saturday.
Sale, production and distribution of paan masala falling in the banned category will be prohibited for the next one year, the notification said.
This has been done in view of the health and welfare of the people of the state, it added.
