Kolkata/IBNS: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar on Sunday visited Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence on the occasion of Kali Puja.

Mamata used to perform Kali Puja and host a number of people at her Kalighat residence in south Kolkata.

Dhankar was present along with his wife.

The meeting between the Governor and the Chief Minister took place on Sunday in the backdrop of the repeated tussles between the Raj Bhavan and the Trinamool Congress-led state government.

State Minister and Trinamool secretary general, Partha Chatterjee, who was caught in a verbal tussle with Dhankar, was found chatting with the Governor. "Do you know he (Partha Chatterjee) has a daughter so do I?" Dhankar was heard telling Mamata.

The conflict between the Raj Bhavan and the government first took place after Dhankar went to Jadavpur University to rescue Union Minister Babul Supriyo who was caught in a protest by the students in the university campus.

Bringing a change, Dhankar organised a number of administrative meetings which were skipped by the state government officials evoking anger from the Governor. "I am not subordinate to the state government," an angry Dhankar had also said.

"People are coming to the Chief Minister's house with pure hearts," Dhankar said on Sunday in a much different mood.
