West Bengal Minister and Kolkata Mayor Firad Hakim wins KMC ward by-poll

Kolkata, Jan 9 (IBNS): West Bengal minister and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim clinched a  KMC ward by-election as results of it was declared on Wednesday.

Hakim defeated his BJP rival by a margin of 13,987 votes to win the poll.

He was the candidate of the ruling Trinamool Congress in the ward 82 by-poll.

Hakim won 16564 votes in the polls

BJP's Jiban Kumar Sen stood second with 2577.

Sisir Kumar Dutta of the CPI-M stood in the third position with 1735 votes.

Congress candidate Animesh Bhattacharya received 537 votes.
