New Delhi, May 23 (IBNS/UNI): Accepting defeat in all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, which went in favour of BJP, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said the party will continue to work for the people of the national capital.

"In Delhi, we fielded very good candidates, did very good campaign and all the workers worked very hard. We welcome people's mandate. Will continue to work for the people of Delhi," Kejriwal tweeted.

Earlier, Kejriwal congratulated Narendra Modi for BJP's landslide victory.

The Delhi CM said he looks forward to work with Modi for development in Delhi.

"I congratulate Sh Narendra Modi for this historic win and look forward to working together for the betterment of the people of Delhi," Kejriwal tweeted.

AAP's national ambition suffered a setback, as the Modi wave is all set to sweep the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

BJP is leading on all seven Lok Sabha seats (Chandni Chowk, East Delhi,New Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, South Delhi and West Delhi) in the national capital, as counting of votes progressed.

BJP's prominent candidates - Harsh Vardhan, Meenakshi Lekhi, Manoj Tiwari and debutant cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir - are all ahead in their respective seats.

BJP had won all seven Lok Sabha seats in 2014 general elections.
