New Delhi, Jan 17 (IBNS):  Noted writer-historian and co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival William Dalrymple on Thursday said he will not be able to attend the event to be hosted in the 'Pink City' this year.

The event will be held in Jaipur from Jan 24-28.

The writer said he will not be able to attend the event this year as he will be joining a family affair following the death of his father Sir Hew Fleetwood Hamilton-Dalrymple.

He passed away recently.

William tweeted: " Apologies, but I'm going to miss Jaipur this year in order to attend to family affairs following the death of my beloved Pop. It’s just too soon after his death, which has been a huge blow for me and my family, and I need to be with them & deal with the aftermath of his passing."
