Winking 'forbidden in Islam', say fresh petitioners against Priya Praash viral song
New Delhi, Apr 9 (IBNS): In a fresh trouble for Priya Prakash viral song, a new petition has been filed in the Supreme Court stating winking is "forbidden in Islam", media reports said.
Priya, who is one of the lead characters of the Malayalam film Oru Adaar Love, was seen winking at a boy while song Manikya Malaraya Poovi was played in the romantic scene.
In the fresh petition, two persons from Hyderabad said that "objectionable visuals" have been depicted in the song.
"The 30-second clip shows a young schoolgirl and schoolboy exchanging smiles, eyebrows wiggles and winks from across the way. It has completely captivated audiences but with a wrinkle on the face of religious Muslims," the application has been quoted by News 18.
In mid-Feb, a group of Muslims in Hyderabad has lodged a complaint with the police against her expressions in the popular song from the film Odu Adaar Love.
However, the top court had said there will be no criminal proceedings against Priya and her director.
The sweet video, where a girl, who is none other than Priya, could be seen winking at a boy, exchanging unsaid love messages, started treading across all social media platforms in India.
The clip of the film made Priya an overnight sensation on social media.
Oru Adaar Love will make Priya's acting debut in south Indian movies.
In fact, she is one of the few celebrities in the world who has got more than 600k followers in just 24 hours. She is currently having 3.8 millions followers on Instagram.
Her account has now been verified too by Instagram.
