Woman chased and shot dead inside police station in Uttar Pradesh

Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, Apr 18 (IBNS) : In a chilling incident, a woman, chased by her assailant, was shot dead inside a police station in Uttar Pradesh's Mainpuri, 250 km off Lucknow, on Monday night, media reports said.

The man, who killed her was caught and beaten up by the local people that had gathered there.

According to reports, the murder took place over a land dispute.

Police have arrested eleven people in connection with the incident.

The disputed property is close to the police station. After a fight began between two families, the woman ran into the police station for protection, but the man who was chasing her with a gun, also barged into it and shot at her dead from point blank range before the policemen could do anything.
