Woman farmer found dead in Palghar

Palghar, Jul 17(UNI) A 40-year-old woman farmer from Virar of the district was found murdered in her farm, district rural police said here on Wednesday.

According to police PRO Hemant Kumar Katkar, an offense under section 302 of the IPC was registered on Tuesday night by the Virar police against the unidentified killers based on the woman's husband.

Saiwan resident Anita Madke had gone to the field for spraying fertilizers as usual on Monday. When she did not return home till late evening, her family members started to look for her. Her body was found in a pool of blood in their farm.

Police said some unidentified persons caught her while in the field and killed her.

The body bore at least four to five stab wounds on the face and head.

Teams have been formed to detect the crime and the body sent for post-mortem to the government hospital.

Motive behind the murder is still not known and will be clear only after the accused gets nabbed .
