Mumbai, July 29 (IBNS): Televangelist and Muslim preacher, Zakir Naik has slapped a hefty sum of Rs 500 crore against news channel Times Now and its anchor/editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami for making callous remarks about him, media reports said.

Naik's lawyer Mubin Solkar said that the anchor and the news channel have hurt the sentiments of people who held Naik in high esteem by running a 'hate campaign' and 'media trial' against him.

Naik, who was due to return to India, will be returning to the country next year.
