The first day's highlights included opening of an exhibition on late screen goddess Suchitra Sen. Daughter Moon Moon Sen, actor and festival committee chairman Ranjit Mullick, painter Shuvaprasanna, who also is the Chairman of Exhibition Committee, were present at the opening of the show on Suchitra where several familiar and rare images of the enigmatic screen diva's life are displayed. A booklet on Sen was also released. Also spotted during the day was actress Tanuja- who had starred in many Bengali films- with her daughter Tanisha. Actor-filmmaker Amol Palekar, who is a member of the jury this year, was seen catching up on films.
