66th National Film Awards: Actors Ayushmann Khurrana, Vicky Kaushal, Akshay Kumar receive honours
New Delhi/IBNS: Actors Ayushmann Khurana and Vicky Kaushal received the prestigious 66th National Film Awards at Vigyan Bhawan on Monday.
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu conferred the honours on them.
While Ayushmann was presented the honour for his performance in 'Badhaai Ho', Vickey bagged the award for 'Uri: The Surgical Strike.'
Actor Akshay Kumar received the honour for Best Film on Social Issues, Padman, at the 66th National Film Awards function.
74-year old Surekha Sikri, who bagged the National Award for the Best Supporting Actress, received the honour in a wheelchair owing to her ill health.
Ace filmmakers Sriram Raghavan and Aditya Dhar received the prestigious National Award from Venkaiah Naidu for 'Andhadhun' and 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' respectively.
'Badhaai Ho' earned the award under the category of 'Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment'.
'Andhadhun', the thriller which featured Ayushmann in the lead role, won the Best Hindi movie award.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan was conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke for his contribution to Indian cinema. However, he could not attend the function due to his ill-health.
