New Delhi, Oct 2 (IBNS): Superstar Aamir Khan on Thursday joined Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious Swachh Bharat Mission launch at the Rajpath here.

Appreciating the actor's participation, Modi tweeted: "I thank noted actor @aamir_khan for joining the launch of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan."

Aamir also expressed his happiness to be able to participate in the cleanliness drive.

"I would be very happy if the responsibility is given to me. I would accept it whole heartedly because it is a very big step for the country. If we pay attention to cleanliness, at least eight to ten things get right. Like, health improves with cleanliness," he told reporters.

Aamir, who takes up several social issues in his TV show, 'Satyameva Jayate' said: "I feel every Indian will have to take part in it. Other than this, municipalities too have to manage solid and liquid waste. If both things go hand in hand, the good will be achieved."

"I humbly accept respected Prime Minster Narendra Modiji's challenge. This is an idea that is long overdue #CleanIndiaCampaign @PMOIndia," Priyanka tweeted.
