Akshay Kumar donates Rs. 50 lakhs towards drought relief efforts

Mumbai, Apr 19 (IBNS): Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has donated Rs. 50 lakhs towards the Jalyukt Shivar Abhiyaan, an initiative taken by the Maharashtra government to make villages drought-proof.
The initiative is taken to develop water harvesting techniques like construction of ponds.
 
Besides Akshay Kumar, actor Aamir Khan too has expressed his desire to lend support when he visited two villages in Beed in Maharashtra along with the NGO Paani Foundation. 
 
The actor had also decided to adopt two parched villages.
