'Balika Vadhu' enters Limca Book of Records

Mumbai, May 30 (IBNS)Popular Indian soap 'Balika Vadhu' has added one more feather to its cap as it entered the Limca Book of Records for being the longest running show in Hindi and completed 2190 episode as of May 27.

A source was quoted as saying by The Times of India, "The show has completed eight years and has entered the Limca Book of Records as the longest running daily fiction soap in Hindi. The show first aired on July 21 in 2008 and since its inception, has taken many leaps and chronicled the lives of three Anandis."

'Balika Vadhu'  is an Indian soap opera that airs on Colors TV.

The story which is set in rural Rajasthan traces the arduous journey of a child bride from the brink of childhood to womanhood.

The soap featured actress Pratyusha Banerjee who committed suicide recently.

Her performance in the soap had made her a household name.
