Mumbai, May 19 (IBNS) Actor Amitabh Bachchan was all praise for the recently released namesake biopic on Sarabjit Singh, an Indian prisoner in Pakistan, who died in foreign shores under mysterious circumstances.

"'Sarabjit' an intense dramatic film .. pertinent and performed with great aplomb ! Congratulations !!," Bachchan tweeted his view post the screening, which he attended with his wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya.

Aishwarya also plays an important role in the film, portraying the character of Sarabjit's sister.

'Sarbjit', is based on the real life tale of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh, who was convicted and sentenced to death in Pakistan on charge of spying. It had two market screenings on the first weekend of the 69th Cannes Film Festival.
