The mortal remains of Sridevi, who died due to "accidental drowning" in a hotel bathtub on Saturday night, were brought to Mumbai on Tuesday.
Sridevi was off to Dubai to attend a marriage ceremony.
Though the initial reports said the actress had passed away due to cardiac arrest, later the forensic report claimed it to be "accidental drowning" that created somewhat mystery.
Some media reports also claimed that traces of alcohol have been found in her blood in the autopsy report.
Sridevi's husband Bonney Kapoor, who incidentally flew to Dubai to surprise his wife, reportedly found her unconscious in the bathtub.
She was taken to a hospital but was declared brought dead.
Sridevi's body was brought to Mumbai by her husband Boney Kapoor and brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor.
The last rite will take place at Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery on Wednesday at around 3.30 in the afternoon.
The news of Sridevi’s death came as a huge shock to the entire film fraternity as well as her fans.
