Cross Connection 2 music released in Kolkata
Cross Connection 2 is a sequel to the 2009 movie Cross Connection, which was directed by Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, that traced the lives of two couples.
Apart from the director duo, the lead actors of the movie, Ritwik Chakraborty, Rimjhim Mitra and Tanushree Chakraborty along with composer Neel Dutt and singers Rupankar Bagchi, Ujjaini and Somlata were also present at the launch.
Speaking about the movie, Sudeshna Roy said, "Cross Connection 2 is a film that comes straight from our hearts. The music, humour and the performances by all the artists are elements that one could look forward to".
The music album boasts of five peppy and youthful tracks that are in keeping with the spirit of the movie. Some of the popular names of the bengali music industry like Rupankar Bagchi, Somlata Acharya, Ujjaini, Madhubanti etc. have lent their voices to the songs of the movie.
Talking about the experience of composing songs for the movie, Neel Dutt said, "After a long time I composed songs for a movie. Having worked with the old team of Cross Connection is an absolute pleasure. I have tried to give this film the sound which is fun and free spirited. The music is simple".
The singers Rupankar, Ujjaini and Madhubanti crooned some of the songs from the movie. Sharing her experience of singing for the movie, Somlata said, "Cross Connection is and has been very special to me since I started out as a playback singer with that film. So this time around there was a sense of familiarity. I have thoroughly enjoyed singing for the movie".
Cross Connection 2 is produced by Black Magic World Entertainment and is slated to release during Durga puja.
