Deepika Padukone acquires place among world's highest-paid actresses

Mumbai, Aug 23 (IBNS): After her dominance at the Box Office and all premium award shows of the country, Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone has acquired a place among the world's highest-paid actresses with a $10 million debut in Forbes Magazine list.

According to Forbes Magazine, Deepika is the only newcomer to the World’s Highest-Paid Actresses ranking and the only Indian star to make the cut.

She has acquired the 10th position.

Deepika debuted in the Bollywood film industry with Om Shanti Om in 2007.

Since then, she has starred in several films that have crossed the $150 million or 100 crore mark, which define success in India.

"The 30-year-old has also become something of a style icon, launching her own label All About You for Indian online shopping site Myntra," Forbes reported.

"While Padukone earns far less than her Hollywood counterparts for roles, she compensates with over a dozen lucrative endorsements for local brands including Tanishq jewelry and Vistara, a domestic airline," the magazine said.

"These numerous high-paying shills have helped her hedge against a deep pay gap in Bollywood," it added.
