Mumbai, Dec 19 (IBNS): Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dilwale' collected Rs. 21 crore on the first day of its release on Friday.

Actors Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh's 'Bajirao Mastani' earned Rs. 12.80 crore on the first day of its release when it found a tough battle with 'Dilwale' as SRK's movie also released on the same day.

"#BajiraoMastani Fri ₹ 12.80 cr [3050 screens]. India biz. Film growing rapidly with strong word of mouth and glowing reviews," film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#Dilwale Fri ₹ 21 cr. India biz. VERY GOOD, in view of the fact that screens/shows got divided + protests/show cancellations at places," he said.

Beside SRK, Rohit Shetty directed 'Dilwale' also features Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.

The film is again seeing the union between Bollywood's loved couple Kajol and SRK.

They were last seen in 'My Name Is Khan' in 2010.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has produced and directed Bajirao Mastani.

Priyanka Chopra plays Bajirao's first wife Kashibai.
