Emraan Hashmi tests positive for swine flu amid Awarapan 2 success, cancels upcoming events
Mumbai/IBNS: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has tested positive for H1N1 swine flu after returning from Ranchi, media reports said.
The actor reportedly felt unwell following his return and subsequently tested positive for the viral infection.
Emraan was shooting for his upcoming film G9 when he was diagnosed.
Following his diagnosis, the actor has cancelled his upcoming public engagements, including a scheduled tour of Bengaluru.
The actor has also been enjoying the success of Awarapan 2, which has emerged as a strong performer at the box office and marked a successful return for the franchise.
Scripting a remarkable comeback for Emraan, the film has collected over Rs. 200 crore worldwide in just 15 days since its release.
Also starring Disha Patani in the lead, Awarapan 2 is the sequel to Emraan Hashmi's 2007 cult romantic thriller Awarapan.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, the film sees Hashmi reprise his role as Shivam, while Disha Patani joins the franchise. Shabana Azmi also plays a key role.
