My acting is the reflection of my co-actors' performances: Amitabh Bachchan
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan will be seen pairing with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor after 27 years in 102 Not Out. Big B is portraying the role of a father in the film, which is scheduled to release this Friday. As the 75-year old actor is promoting his film, IBNS-TWF brings some excerpts
How two of you get paired in the film?
Umesh Shukla (director of the film) did come and offered me the role. He gave me the outline and within ten minutes, I had agreed to play the role. Then Umesh Shukla said he would like to cast Rishi Kapoor for the other role, and I had agreed. After I gave my permission, our work began.
How would you like to describe your character in the film?
My character is fond of living. He wants to live life fully. However his son, despite being younger than him, is not much enthusiastic. So he tries to make his son enjoy his life. There is another purpose behind my character's efforts but the audience will come to know once they see the film. But my character is very enthusiastic and wants his son to enjoy his life too.
Do you remember when you first said Badumba (song from 102 Not Out)?
I said whenever the word came to my mind. It may be in the time of happiness or someone said something great or India had won a match. So I kept on saying the word.

You have shown some great flexibility in the film with your body moves. How do you get so much energy?
I have a body full of energy (smiles). Now I don't know from where it comes from. I simply have no answer for it.
How was your experience working with Rishi Kapoor and other co-artists?
It is due to the co-artists, my acting gets appreciated. If the co-actor does well, I look good onscreen. If they don't act (respond) well to my reactions, I won't be able to put up my great performance. I would like to compliment my co-actors because all my performances are dependent on the acting of others. The performances of co-actors are the reflections of my acting.
Was there any memorable incident in the course of shooting?
No there was no such thing. We used to reach the shooting floor on time but had to work beyond scheduled time (smiles). We had planned locations to shoot. Everything was decided.
