Kolkata/IBNS: National award-winning Indian actor Riddhi Sen romanced his senior in the business, Subhashree Ganguly, in Indraadip Das Gupta's upcoming Bengali film Bismillah, which is addressing communal harmony through the prism of Indian classical music.

Speaking about his onscreen chemistry with Subhashree, Riddhi tells India Blooms, "It came out beautifully the way we wanted to. It has been dealt with a lot of sensitivity, sensibility and beautifully. It's not something which has turned tacky, I would say.

"Love is not restricted to a gender or an age. So the film is trying to convey those conventional norms which have been there in the threshold of the society for a long time. It has tried to hit that in various aspects."

Riddhi, who plays a Muslim boy having the same name as the film, and Subhashree are portrayed as Krishna and Radha respectively in Kaliedoscope produced Bismillah, which is slated for Aug 19 release.

The film's trailer, which was released last week, traces Bismillah's growth as a Shehnai player under the guidance of his father, played by national award-winning director-actor Kaushik Ganguly.

Elucidating his journey of going through metamorphosis in every film, Riddhi says, "My job is to break myself in every film. If I get tired of it, I should look for some other profession. An actor needs to go through that process of metamorphosis every single time. It is also not just an exterior discovery but an internal journey as well."

"I am grateful to my profession because it allows me to live the life of another person. That is a very important part of being an actor. As actors, we live the lives of certain people without facing their literal consequences," the 24-year-old actor adds.
