Paresh Rawal, Mimi Chakraborty starrer 'Shastry Virudh Shastry' releases in theatres

Bollywood veteran Paresh Rawal, Bengali actress-MP Mimi Chakraborty starrer 'Shastry Virudh Shastry', a Hindi remake of 2017 Bengali film 'Posto', released in theatres on Friday.

Apart from Paresh Rawal and Mimi, the film features Neena Kulkarni, Shiv Pandit, Amruta Subhash in the lead.

It is directed by filmmaking duo Nandita Roy-Shiboprosad Mukherjee, who helmed 'Posto',  which starred late acting legend Soumitra Chattopadhyay, veteran actress Lily Chakraborty, Jisshu U Sengupta alongside Mimi in the lead, as well.

About the film

'Shastry Virudh Shastry' captures how a seven-year-old kid, named Momoji, was caught in an emotional tussle between his grandparents (played by Paresh Rawal and Neena Kulkarni) and parents (played by Mimi Chakraborty and Shiv Pandit).

Following the tussle within the family, the plot enters into a courtroom drama where the grandparents and parents legally fight to determine who can have the moral claim over Momoji.

The film is produced by Viacom 18 Studios and Windows Production.
