Pataakha earns Rs. 90 lakhs on opening day

Mumbai, Sept 29 (IBNS): Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is back with Pataakha and the movie has earned Rs. 90 lakhs on an opening day.

The movie released on Friday.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Pataakha Fri ₹ 90 lakhs [875 screens]. India biz... Had a lukewarm start at the start of Day 1 and should grow over the weekend... However, the growth has to be multi-fold since the starting point has been extremely low."

Pataakha is a comedy-drama about two sisters, Badki and Chhutki and is based on an acclaimed short story by renowned writer Charan Singh Pathik.

The film stars Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover and Vijay Raaz in the lead roles.

It has been produced by Vishal Bhardwaj Films LLP and Kyta Productions.

The movie released on the same date with Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan starrer Sui Dhaaga.
