Pehredaar Piya Ki: Netizens attack Indian TV show on social media

Mumbai, Aug 8 (IBNS): The story of an ongoing TV show in India has left the social media divided.

The story line of the serial is the factor which has left many people amused.

Pehredaar Piya Ki is based on a 18 year old girl, Diya who gets married to a 9 year old boy, Ratan Singh, of a royal household , in order to become his protector.

The show has gained negative reviews from several people on social media since it was first aired recently.

According to media reports, people can gear up to witness something more strange when prince Ratan Singh and his wife Diya mightbe even shown going for a honeymoon.

Afaan Khan and Tejasswi Prakash are playing the lead roles in the serial.

The show is telecast on Sony TV.

Meanwhile, Twitter is currently busy discussing the story of the serial with several netizens criticising it.

"So, apparently the makers #pehredaarpiyaki has also written and executed a Suhaag Raat scene too," tweeted a netizen named Sid.

Another Twitter user Tanu Khan said: "#PehredaarPiyaKi The End Is Near! Yaar Dis Kid Needs A Mommy's Love...Not Dat of Wife ."

A netizen, who loves to be called by the name HindiTVAddict, said: "#PehredaarPiyaKi the kid and tejaswi are doing their acting well.Wish the storyline wasn't regressive.it's giving out wrong message to kids."

Another netizen Archita Deb urged Union Minister Smriti Irani to ban the serial as she posted: "@smritiirani Mam plz ban airing Pehredaar piya ki serial on Sony TV. Regressive abnoxious content promoting child marriage & paedophilia."

One internet user, however, urged people to watch the episodes before criticising the serial.

Keya posted: "To all dose who r making such a hullabaloo over #PehredaarPiyaKi hav u evn watched a single episode!! If nt den go n watch before preaching."
