Ranveer Singh, Aditi celebrate one year of Padmaavat

| @indiablooms | Jan 26, 2019, at 09:51 am

Mumbai, Jan 26 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh celebrated by posting a video in his Alauddin Khilji avatar for his fans on the social media as his 2018 blockbuster Padmaavat completed one year on Saturday.

Sharing a video, Ranveer again revisited Padmaavat days as he captioned: "Bad Man having a Good time #throwback #khilji #1yearofpadmaavat."

Padmaavat had a glorious run at the Box Office as it earned Rs 300 crore and even became one of the highest-earning movies of the year.

Deepika Padukone, who portrayed Rani Padmavati in the movie, was also a part of the project along with Shahid Kapoor.

Actress Aditi Rao Hydari also turned nostalgic and tweeted: "Last year this time... #Padmaavat... an experience & a dream come true that I’ll never be able to put into words Thank you #SanajaySir for #Mehrunissa to the epic @RanveerOfficial @deepikapadukone @shahidkapoor @ShobhaIyerSant And the whole team of #Padmaavat. ."

Controversy:

The movie was initially supposed to be released in 2017. However, certain groups objected the content of the movie. Rajput caste organisations including Shri Rajput Karni Sena and its members had protested and later vandalised the film sets claiming that the film portrayed the Padmavati, a Rajput queen, in bad light.

The movie was shifted from its initial day of release to Jan 26, 2018.

Amid violence and reports of riots in several parts of the nation, the movie was released on Jan 26.

Padmaavat turned out to be one of the biggest releases of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
