Salman Khan's 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' earns Rs 40 cr on first day

Mumbai, Nov 13 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's latest release 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' has made a grand opening as it was released on Thursday with the film earning Rs 40 crore on its first day.

Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#PremRatanDhanPayo collects ₹ 40.35 cr on Day 1. Hindi version only... Tamil and Telugu biz being compiled... OUTSTANDING START!"

The films stars Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor.

Earlier this year, Salman Khan was seen on the  silver screen with another major hit of the year Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

A quintessential family film for all age-groups, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is  Rajshri Productions and Fox Star Studios Diwali blockbuster release.
