Setting trends never happens in modern fashion: Rituparna Sengupta
Kolkata, July 19 (IBNS): Tollywood actress Rituparna Sengupta, having wooed audiences from Charulata 2011 to Rajkahini to the current hit movie Praktan, says she likes jazzy women's wear but never believes in setting trends.
"There can't be any trend in the present age. Everything can be a trend to a particular individual who carries that with properly," Rituparna tells IBNS at the first anniversary celebrations of Levell 5 Couture here.
"For me anything which is wearable, becomes a trend. From a college girl to a working lady. From a straight, simple kurta to ikkat and Kalamkari dresses. One which will look absolutely part of herself, that is the trend for her," the Aleek Sukh actress says.
Pointing out she has a fetish for dresses which marry class and elegance, Rituparna says, "That can be anything - from Indian to western."
Directing towards the lovely peach and tea-colored gowns, the Dahan actor says, "I love bright colors here which appear beautiful for eyes."
"People differ in wearing dresses but what she carries most confidently with elan goes well with her - from off-shoulder ones to other types," she says.
Rituparna was draped in a flowing brocade skirt paired with white silk bustier with antique jewellery having adorned the neckline of the blouse as the skirt was a modern take on the traditional lehenga.
The skirt sported a wrap-around in georgette fringed with lively assels that created an illusion.
