SRK-Anushka's next named Jab Harry Met Sajal
The Imatiaz Ali directed movie will released on Aug 4, a week ahead of Akshay Kumar's 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha'.
The movie was actually set for an Aug 11 opening, but the makers decided against it to avert a clash with the Akshay Kumar film.
Tweeting about the drawbacks of film clashes, Bollywood critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh said, "When biggies clash, it benefits no one: Screens, shows, footfalls, eventually biz gets divided... Bitterness amongst fans erupts as well..."
"It's wise to set aside your ego and think from the business point of view... With careers + crores at stake, why ruin efforts with a clash?" another tweet read.
Adarsh also urged producers to be a bit bold in terms of release dates and to enrich the content in order to attract audiences, instead of banking on holiday weekends.
"Eyeing holidays/festivals to boost BO prospects has become a norm, but remember that #Baahubali2 was a non-holiday, non-festival release..."
"If the content is solid, it can withstand any storm... If it's weak, even a spate of holidays won't save the film from sinking at the BO," an ensuing tweet read.
