SVF,Dev, Dhrubo Banerjee join for next venture
Kolkata/IBNS: Film production house SVF on Wednesday announced that it is joining director Dhrubo Banerjee and actor Dev Adhikari for their upcoming movie.
This is Dhrubo Banerjee’s third film (yet to be titled) after the blockbuster “Guptodhon” franchise.
Keeping in sync with the core theme of “Bangaliyana” and exploring “chena itihasher ochena dik” like his last two films, Dhrubo will weave his story inspired by true incidents from an extremely illustrious period of Bengal renaissance,SVF said in a statement.
In a thrilling author backed role, Dev is back with SVF after the blockbuster Amazon Obhijaan. Together they had defined the commercial landscape of Bengali cinema over the years. That history is about to get repeated again.
The film will be shot during winter 2019 and is slated for a summer 2020 release. Rest of the cast and crew is in the process of getting finalized as we speak. The film is already expected to be one of the biggest of the year, SVF said.
Mahendra Soni, Co-Founder & Director, SVF Entertainment shared the news on twitter. He was quoted saying- “We are sure just like Dhrubo’s earlier films, this one will set the box office roaring!”
Director Dhrubo Banerjee expressed his excitement and said, “This has been a dream subject that could only come alive with Dev and SVF together! I am so excited that they both agreed without a second thought reinforcing my confidence in good content for cinema”.
Speaking about the project & announcement, Dev said- “It's always a pleasure working with SVF. Dhrubo is extremely talented when it comes to direction & script selection. I am fortunate to get this role & will try my level best to give my best for this Magnum Opus”.
